Here we have an 1895 vintage printing press and equipment which survived the devastating Rantoul fire of 1901.

After the fire, this equipment was used to print the Rantoul Weekly News which was owned by
Charles A. Gray and William Gray who were brothers. When Charles Gray sold his interest to F.E. Pikor of the Press, the two papers merged on September 18, 1919, and became known as The Rantoul Press.
