| "We
Are All Recruiters" (WEAR)
 |
While it is the job of
the military recruiter to tell people about the benefits of
being part of our nation's armed forces, recruiters by themselves
are limited in their abilities to interact with the number of
quality young men and women needed to take our defense team
into the 21st century. To solve this problem, the "We Are
All Recruiters" (WEAR) program was started.
WEAR's aim is to encourage everyone in the military "family"
-- both active duty and retired -- to become involved in the
recruiting process. Either by active participation or by simply
being an ambassador for their branch of the service, everyone
associated with the military can help recruit the talent needed
for the future.
The museum gratefully acknowledges the support of our local
military recruiting offices, especially Lt. Col. John W. Andresen,
US Air Force (retired), Staff Sergeant James M. Glauser, US
Army, Gunnery Sergeant Cornelius J. Miller, US Marine Corps,
and Senior Airman Sean O. Sawyers, US Air Force. They acquired
the vintage recruiting posters, uniforms, and other items featured
in this exhibit. We would also like to thank the Rantoul Rotary
Club for their help in bringing this new and exciting exhibit
to our community, particularly Rotarians (and museum volunteers)
Earl Weichel, Roger Little, and George Hebling. |
