McDonnell Douglas F-15A Eagle

Engine: Two Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-100 afterburning turbofans; 25,000 lbs thrust each

Range: 3,450 miles with external fuel tanks
Armament: One M-61A1 20mm General Electric "Vulcan" rotary cannon; 4 AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles; 4 AIM-7 Sparrow missiles; 15,000 lbs of external ordnance

The F-15 is one of the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world. It can be used as a fighter, interceptor, and ground attack aircraft. The F-15 was used extensively in Operation Desert Storm and will be used well into the 21st century.

This F-15A-3-MC, S/N 71-0286, was used at Chanute Technical Training Center in the Fuel Specialist course and in the Jet Engine Training Division. It is on loan to Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum from the National Museum of the United States Airforce.
