The Cessna 120 was a two-place, enclosed
cockpit, high-wing monoplane manufactured by Cessna Aircraft
Corporation of Wichita, Kansas. After World War II, Cessna
ended military aircraft production and resumed building commercial
aircraft. The first planes produced were the Models 120 and
140 in 1945. The 120 was basically a stripped-down version
of the 140, with its most innovative feature being its spring-steel
landing gear. The base price of the original plane was $2,495.
There were 2,164 of these aircraft produced over its production
run.
This Model 120, NC2660N, was manufactured by Cessna in 1947.
It is on loan to the museum from Lisa Moment of Urbana, Illinois.
